學校概況：
諾丁漢大學位於英國英格蘭中部地區諾丁漢郡的公立頂尖研究型大學，是包括被譽為英國常春藤的研究聯盟羅素大學集團 (Russell Group)、薩頓信託13 (Sutton Trust 13)、Universitas 21 (由全球21所優秀的研究型大學所組成的大學聯盟)、大英國協大學協會和歐洲大學協會等教育集團的一員。過去連續五年在QS世界大學排名前一百名之中，被認為是英國一流大學。
諾丁漢大學分為五個學院，並提供各種科學和人文科學的約50種學位，提供多樣化的學習場所，且是英國申請最激烈的大學之一（大學部錄取率約為10%）。諾丁漢大學主校區在英國的諾丁漢附近，之後也陸續在馬來西亞和中華人民共和國以英國大學公園的特色建立校區，各校區皆隸屬諾丁漢大學體系並參與綜合世界排名。諾丁漢大學至今已培育多位諾貝爾獎得主、世界500強企業CEO，和許多奧運獎牌得主。
身為一所頂尖的研究機構，Sir Peter Mansfield教授很多磁共振成象（簡稱MRI）的相關研究都在諾丁漢完成，並在2003年獲得諾貝爾獎。諾丁漢大學也獲得許多其他重大科學成果，例如：化學系的Frederick Kipping教授在諾丁漢大學發現了矽聚合物；植物學家取得體外培養的植物和微型繁殖技術上的主要成果，1980年代Don Grierson 教授研究出第一代轉基因番茄。其他在諾丁漢大學的創新包括為耳聾兒童研發的人工耳蝸植入技術、飛機上使用的brace-for-impact姿勢；建築系的Joseph Halligan 在2015 年獲得歐洲最具聲望的藝術獎Turner Prize，大學還擁有全世界最強之一的超級電腦等設備，幫助科學家加快研究的速度。
學校歷史背景：
諾丁漢大學的起源要追溯到建於1798年的一所成人學校。而現在的學校是由1877年位於莎士比亞路的諾丁漢大學學院發展而來的。1881年正式啟用，作為倫敦大學的附屬學院並透過倫敦大學名義頒發證書。1928年，在慈善基金和公眾捐贈的支持下，學校獲得了新地並遷往新址，安置在一棟由莫利·霍德 (Morley Horder) 設計的特倫特大樓 (Trent Building)。這一時期的諾丁漢大學吸引了一批包括愛因斯坦、喬治·威爾斯和聖雄甘地在內的知名度很高的演講者的光臨。愛因斯坦教授當年在諾丁漢大學使用過的黑板現在依然陳列在學校的物理系。在1948年奉皇家特許升格為一所獨立的國立大學，屬於紅磚大學時期成立的學校。
諾丁漢大學自建立以來不斷的發展，豐富的歷史包含1970年建立了20世紀英國第一所醫學院，1995年成立護理學院。1999年創建了50周年校區 (Jubilee Campus) 第一階段，在2009完成第二階段的興建。在此之後，諾丁漢大學便開始了海外擴張之路。2000年和2004年，兩處新校區分別在馬來西亞和中國落成，2005年，國王牧場校區 (King’s Meadow Campus) 建成，2007 年創立英國50年以來第一間專為獸醫學院建設的學院建築。
學校所在城市：
諾丁漢位於英國英格蘭中部東邊區域的諾丁漢郡，離倫敦約250公里。中世紀前期就有盎格魯-撒克遜人 (Anglo-Saxons) 居住在此。綠林好漢羅賓漢的故事也發生在這裡，雖然諾丁漢城堡已燒毀，現址為藝術博物館對外開放。諾丁漢是英國重要的工商業城市，工業革命年代有大量紡織廠在此設立，並且因花邊工業遺產而世界著稱。諾丁漢同時也是大批藝術家、創意產業、Raleigh自行車的故鄉，以及文學傳說的發源地。著名的浪漫詩人拜倫男爵 (George Gordon Byron) 就曾在這裡住過。遊客仍然可以到他的祖居地紐斯特德修道院 (Newstead Abbey) 參觀。
